Recipe:
Prepare the Pork Ribs
Cut ribs into longer pieces. Sprinkle 1 tsp baking soda over the ribs, mix well, and let sit for 30 minutes.
Rinse the ribs thoroughly 3 times until the water runs clear, then drain and place in a bowl.
Marinate the Ribs
Add salt, white pepper, sugar, five-spice powder, chicken bouillon powder, crushed garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, and olive oil to the ribs.
Mix well, ensuring the ribs are evenly coated.
Sprinkle 1 tsp cornstarch over the ribs and mix again to seal in the marinade.
Let the ribs marinate for 1 hour.
Air Fry the Ribs
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
Place the marinated ribs on a piece of tin foil inside the air fryer. Cook at 180°C for 10 minutes.
Flip the ribs over and increase the temperature to 200°C (390°F). Cook for another 10 minutes.
Prepare the Glaze
In a bowl, mix sugar, hoisin sauce, char siu sauce, and honey until combined.
Glaze and Finish Cooking
Brush the glaze generously over the ribs.
Air fry for 2 minutes at 180°C to set the glaze. Repeat the glazing and cooking process once more for a beautifully caramelized finish.
Serve
Remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest briefly. Serve hot and enjoy the sweet, smoky flavors of air fryer char siu ribs!
