British Rain is Killing My American Pit Smoker ! (American BBQ vs British Winters )

It’s time for a deep clean and restoration of my Franklin Offset Backyard Smoker! After three months of not using it, and with the British rain absolutely hammering it while it was covered up, the smoker has started to develop rust—especially on the base and casters. So today, I’m tackling a full spring clean to bring it back to life, remove the rust, treat the steel, and season it properly—ready for some serious BBQ action!

What’s in This Video?

✅ Final oiling and maintenance tips – Making sure it’s in top shape for the next big cook

This smoker has been an absolute workhorse, and I want to make sure it stays in great condition for future BBQs. In the next video, I’ll be firing it up for a Southern-style BBQ platter with our neighbors—so you won’t want to miss that! We’ll be smoking up some dino ribs, pulled pork, and more classic BBQ meats.
